Granor Farm Season Kick Off Dinner with Slow Food USA

To kick off the 2018 season, we are hosting Slow Food for a special Taste of Granor Dinner. Join us in our renovated farmhouse for a multi-course, family-style meal that showcases the best of Granor Farm's crops and features Ark of Taste ingredients from us and the surrounding agricultural community. The Ark of Taste is a living catalog of delicious and distinctive foods facing extinction that Slow Food champions to keep in production and on our plates.

To kick off the 2018 season, we are hosting Slow Food for a special Taste of Granor Dinner. Join us in our renovated farmhouse for a multi-course, family-style meal that showcases the best of Granor Farm's crops and features Ark of Taste ingredients from us and the surrounding agricultural community. The Ark of Taste is a living catalog of delicious and distinctive foods facing extinction that Slow Food champions to keep in production and on our plates.

The evening will start with an appetizer reception at the Farm Stand where you will be checked in for the dinner and any bags or jackets will be transported to the farmhouse to be ready when you arrive after the tour. After check in our Farm Manager, Katie Burdett, or Property Manager, Wesley Rieth, will lead you on a tour of the farm and all of its various growing spaces. This tour will show you the style of intensive cultivation we practice at Granor as well as our barns and hoop houses. They will be there to answer any farming questions along the way.

After the farm tour, you will arrive at the farm house for a talk with Jennifer Breckner, chair of Slow Food's Midwest Ark of Taste Committee, as the dinner begins. This meal will feature produce grown on the farm as well as Ark of Taste ingredients.

Dinner will conclude with dessert and coffee and you will leave with a Slow Food Plant a Seed Garden Kit with Ark of Taste seeds for your garden. $45 of the ticket price will be donated to Slow Food and provide a garden kit for a partnering school. All dinners are BYOB and by reservation only

Coming from Chicago, the farm is accessible from the Union Pier exit off I-94, roughly 90 minutes from the Loop.

We are located 7 miles east of Red Arrow Highway on Warren Woods Road, between Log Cabin Road and Pardee Road.
