Terra Madre

Terra Madre Salone del Gusto was first held in 1996 and is one of the world’s most important events dedicated to artisan and small-scale food and wine producers, as well as a forum of exchange for producers and consumers from around the world. The last edition in 2016 attracted seven thousand delegates from 143 countries, 300 Slow Food Presidia and 1000 food communities of the Terra Madre network from five continents, along with hundreds of thousands public visitors. In 2018, Terra Madre Salone del Gusto will take place from September 20-24 in Turin, Italy.

Delegate Scholarships

As Slow Food USA, we encourage Americans to attend the event, and will have 195 delegate scholarships available from Slow Food International. The scholarships will cover accommodation, meals and ground transportation (NOT air travel). These scholarships will be split between seven groups: chapters, Ark of Taste and farmers, school garden educators, youth, academics, food justice leaders, and Chefs' Alliance members. The scholarship aplication is available here and is due on March 31.

Delegate Registration

Those not applying for a scholarship can simply register as a USA delegate and will be given credentials, invited to the National Meeting, and included in general communications about the event. There is no cap on this number, and our hope is to register folks who would not normally go through the delegate process, to be sure they are included in our activities. The registration is a simple form here and there is no deadline.
